RENT RELIEF AVAILABLE THROUGH TABLELAND SERVICES

Applications are being accepted until November 4, 2020.

Are you a Somerset County resident having difficulties making your rent payment as a result of losing your job or have you experienced a decrease in your income since the Coronavirus pandemic?  If so, Tableland Services, Inc. may be able to help you.  Tableland is Somerset County’s designee for the CARES Rent Relief Program which is designed to assist landlords and renters who have lost a job or have had substantial loss of income due to COVID-19.  Beginning July 6, Tableland is accepting applications for this program. The program will allow assistance for up to six months of rent at a maximum amount of $750 per month and up to $4,500 per household.  Funds are available to assist with unpaid back rent incurred between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020. There are certain eligibility requirements such as becoming unemployed after March 1, 2020 or experiencing a 30 percent or more reduction in annual household income resulting from reduced work hours or wages due to COVID-19.  Landlords and renters both must complete the application eligibility process.  Assistance payments will be made to the landlords only.  Landlords must agree not to begin any eviction proceedings for at least 60 days from the final month of CARES assistance. If you would like more information about this program and find out if you are eligible for rent relief,  please review the Tableland website at www.capfsc.org, or call us at (814) 445-9628.
