We are updating our site again!  We have recently included a section devoted to our Food Pantry and the locations of the Food Pantries throughout Somerset County.

For your convenience the following information will now be available:

  • Food Program description

  • Pantry names

  • Location of each Food Pantry with directions

  • Hours of Operation

  • Service Area / School District

Somerset Needs Assessment 2015
Somerset Needs Assessment 2015

Tableland Services, Inc. is conducting a needs assessment survey for all Somerset County residents.

The purpose of the survey is to identify the needs of Somerset County residents in the areas of childhood education and care; transportation; housing; weatherization and other areas. Responses from the survey will be used to help Tableland better provide the services that are needed by County residents. I urge you to complete the survey and please distribute it to your friends, colleagues and family members in Somerset County.

Weatherization Sub-contractors
Weatherization Sub-contractors

JOIN THE WEATHERIZATION NETWORK
Community Action Partnership for Somerset County
Tableland Services, Inc. is seeking Sub-Contractors who are interested in performing
Weatherization work for state and privately funded energy assistance programs.
 
Requirements include: Valid PA Contractor License and proof of insurance. Must have
experience with electrical and plumbing work, blown insulation process and
other weatherization tactics. All contractors and their employees
must pass mandated background clearances.
 
NEED HELP PAYING FOR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS?
We are offering a signing bonus for required weatherization certifications
that are completed in the first 3 months of the agreement.
 
Interested contractors should submit letter of interest and work references to:

Transients Online Survey
Transients Online Survey

Community Action Partnership for Somerset County, Tableland Services, Inc. is conducting an online survey of transient individuals in our area.

For the purpose of this survey, a transient homeless individual is someone that lacks permanent living arrangements. They can be floating from area to area or hitch hiking or attempting to get to another for one reason or another.

If you or your agency has come into contact with transient individual(s) this year please take a moment to comlete our online survey.

The Community Action Partnership for Somerset County (Tableland Services, Inc.) is a tax exempt 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.  Although we receive Federal and State funding, donations of materials and funds can help us to better serve the residents of Somerset County.  If you would like to make a cash donation, please send your contribution to:

Help An Angel in Shelter

As part of our continued effort to support local agencies, Community Action Partnership for Somerset County will be accepting donations for the Women's Help Center's "Help An Angel in Shelter" program. If you wish to donate a dollar to this project, you will receive an angel with your name on it that will be displayed in our main office. If you are interested, please see either Amanda, Cindy, or Wendy to make your donation.

Project Home Grown
Project Home Grown

Project Home Grown continues to flourish! Community Action Partnership for Somerset County/Tableland Services, Inc. was awarded the Lee Initiatives Health & Wellness Endowment. This exciting new grant has broken ground on a community garden that encompasses two sites, one at Community Action and the other at the Next Step Center. As participants travel on their individualized journey to self-recovery and empowerment, they will be faced with new challenges and goals. Each participant will be partaking in ongoing life skill classes, horticultural therapy, and individualized goal setting. This well devised structure will help each participant learn healthy habits and be streamlined to a multitude of community services to strengthen their housing stability. Community Action Partnership for Somerset County has broken ground on the garden area and is laying a strong foundation to a healthy green space. Danielle Wismer-Bowers , Coordinator of Welfare Employment and Training Program at Tableland Services, presents a Governors Recognition Award to Cindy Vena, Human Resources Director at the Patriot Manor,  for their initiative and leadership  in providing opportunities to low income families on their journey towards self-sufficiency through employment.
